New hard drives

My father-in-law brought me some used computer parts that he didn't need anymore. Pictured above are 5 SATA hard drives of various capacities. From left to right starting on the top row we have 80GB, 100GB, 160GB, bottom row 250GB and 750GB. Not sure if they are all functional, but hopefully some of them work. Now I just need to pick up some RAM and I'll have a new PC.

New speakers

My father-in-law brought me some used computer parts that he didn't need anymore. Pictured above is a set of 4.1 computer speakers. I probably won't hook up the rear speakers, but the subwoofer will be a welcome addition.

New TV tuner card

My father-in-law brought me some used computer parts that he didn't need anymore. Pictured above is a Hauppage WinTV TV tuner card. It looks like it has 2 tuners, and I'm not sure if I'll be using it. Maybe for a Mythbox.

New sound card

My father-in-law brought me some used computer parts that he didn't need anymore. Pictured above is a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 audio card. I wonder if they have Vista drivers that work.

New Cooler Master power supply

My father-in-law brought me some used computer parts that he didn't need anymore. Pictured above is a Cooler Master 500W power supply.

My cell phone

I was trying to figue out how to get my phone to take a picture of itself (the front side not the back where the camera is), and I was thinking of using a couple of mirrors. I ditched that plan because it was too complicated, and when I saw the box just sitting there I thought I could just take a picture of it instead.

My cell phone is the Motorola Q9h the best MotoQ series phone currently out. It runs MS Windows Mobile 6.0, has HSDPA 3.6Mbps 3G high speed data, GPS, Bluetooth, Messaging (including IM, SMS and MMS), Email, a hardware keyboard, and a 2MP camera with a flash. I currently have a 4GB micro-SD flash card in it, but haven't put too much music on it yet.

I really like my phone although I am craving the next rev of the iPhone if it comes with the features I need. I'm also digging the HTC Touch Diamond and the Sony Xperia X1 as long as they can hide the Windows UI with something better. Google's Android looks cool, and they'll probably have handsets out by the time I'm ready for an upgrade in 2010.

New shoes

I picked up some new workout shoes since my Reeboks are old and worn-out. These Nike Airs are very comfortable.

My gym for the next 90 days

Hot off the Grill continued

My sandwich was a standard 3-decker with BLT and turkey, but with the pleasantly added surprise of avocado. This is bonus #3. Subway would charge an extra $1 for avocado while Quizno's would charge $2. There were a good amount of delicious fries. I'd say there were about 3 bags of chips worth. Overall the meal was a great value for the quantity and quality of the food. If this was Quizno's I'd end up paying $12 for this meal instead of the $7 I paid. I definitely recommend Hot off the Grill to everyone. They have a large vaiety of food (such a large variety in fact I could eat here every day for 3 months and not repeat a dish), great prices, and good quality.

Lunch at Hot off the Grill

I was going to Quizno's for lunch to check out their $5 sub deal that I saw a commercial for last night. They're trying to combat their rival Subway's $5 sub deal. Anyway the manager said they just got the promotional material, and they weren't set up for the deal yet. I told him I'd come back another day when they're ready (maybe). This gave me the opportunity to check out the restaurant next door, and I'm glad things worked out the way they did.

I've always passed by Hot off the Grill, but never ventured in. I ended up getting the club sandwich combo for $6.99 plus tax. I like club sandwiches and I thought this would be like any other, but I was wrong. You get your choice of bread including white, wheat or sourdough. Bonus! I love sourdough. While I was waiting for my order I filled my soda cup with my standard mixture of 15% lemonade and 85% diet coke. I noticed they had some hot carrots by the lemons and other condiments so I scooped some up into a paper basket. They were pretty good. Not as good as Serrano's Super Salsa in San Diego, but an unexpected delight nevertheless. Bonus #2. When my food came I was surprised by the size of the dish. The amount of food you get for the price blows away Quizno's (especially the one here in Seal Beach which seems like they charge an extra dollar for being in an upper scale neighborhood), but would it taste good? Have no fear the food is excellent.
