Free Chocolate
Ghirardelli was giving out free chocolates at its booth. Milk chocolate squares filled with caramel. Yum!

Getting a Handel on Reason
While I have a couple of days off of school I thought I'd dig into the latest version of Reason. What better way to get to know the software than sequencing a fun little piece like Handel's Bourree from his Water Musick. I have three of the four voices in so my prelimenary work is almost done. Next comes the creative part of turning it into something more interesting. This would be easier with a hardware controller, but since my only keyboard is too big to set up I'll have to make do with Bome's Mouse Keyboard until I get my hands on a Novation Remote SL.

1000 Steps
Not really, but it seems like it. These stairs lead from the lower parking lot to the upper level of the courthouse where jury duty takes place.

Lunch for Jury Duty day 2
I had lunch at the Wing Stop in the Ralph's shopping center near the courthouse since it's just a short walk away. I've never eaten here before, but I do like wings. They have 9 flavors of wings: Atomic, Cajun, Original Hot, Mild, Hickory Smoked BBQ, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, Hawaiian, and Teriyaki.
I decided to get the 10 wing combo which includes 10 wings of up to 2 flavors, a regular sized order of Fresh Cut Seasoned Fries, a specialty dip (ranch, blue cheese, or honey mustard), and a regular fountain drink. After sampling the Teriyaki sauce and Hawaiian sauce I decided to get my order with Hawaiian and Garlic Parmesan flavors.
I have to say that overall I was pleased with the quality of the food. The Garlic Parmesan wings were very tasty as were the Hawaiian ones although the Hawaiian wings were a bit messy. The fries were decent, but a little soggy for my taste. They reminded me of In-n-Out fries (not the well done ones) so if you like them you'll probably like these although they're seasoned with salt and pepper. Next time I'll skip the fries and opt for more wings.

Doing my civic duty
I'm currently sitting in the jury room of the North Justice Center in Fullerton awaiting assignment to a courtroom. They've already assigned half of the jurors to one courtroom, and they said the rest of us would be assigned to another. They also let us know that it's a busy day because there are four active courtrooms and probably not enough jurors to fill them all. It looks like there's a strong possibillity of getting assigned to a jury today. (original message sent at 9:57am, but didn't go through for some reason)
Downtown Fullerton Restaurants
Here's a map the court provides us of all of the restaurants in downtown Fullerton. I'm probably not going to eat lunch at any of these places since I know of a nice and inexpensive Mongolian BBQ place nearby.

Random thing about karnblack #7
I like to play all kinds of games from video games to traditional games, and I have quite a large collection of traditional ones even after getting rid of half of them. The above picture is a small sampling of them from my closet. I have a couple more closets with a bunch more games in them.

Random thing about Karnblack #6
I enjoy technology, and have built all of my PCs from scratch including the Shuttle SFF system pictured above. Unfortunately it's circa 2004, and now is struggling to remain a min spec system. I've held off on upgrading since the architecture is now obsolete and the entire system needs replacing. I'm heavily contemplating getting a Gateway P series FX edition laptop. It's currently the best bang-for-the buck in mid-range gaming laptops as it has a GeForce 8800 GTS video card with 512MB RAM and it retails for $1350. To get a system with a better video card you'd have to pay close to $2000 or more. A lot of systems with the lesser GeForce 8600 GT even cost more. Gateway has a bargain on their hands.

I love film scores, and I have a decent sized CD collection. The photo above is just a small sample. I also collect soundtracks to video games.

Random thing about Karnblack #3
I've played woodwind instruments since 1982 (mainly clarinet, but also sax and a little flute), and I enjoy playing my Yamaha WX11 midi wind instrument.

I've been tagged
I need to post 7 random things about myself, tag 7 other people by posting a comment on their blog to tag them, and link them to my blog. I normally don't do these, but since it seems like it's going to be a creative challenge (this being a mophotoblog) I figured "why not."

One of my daughter's books
My daughter wants me to read it to her. Actually it's a look and find so she wants me to call out things for her to find. :)
